With your most recent single “In These Eyes” NICE, I Really Like It… Can you give us some details on how you came up with that song?

TaniA Kyllikki –

As distinctive as the song’s melody is, so is its origin story. My husband and I are still long-distance oceans apart, but we were both in a creative mood on this particular day. Rynellton said he was going to play with his keyboards for a while, and I said I was going to write a new song. 

We weren’t actually attempting to collaborate on anything at the time; rather, we merely desired to exercise our individual creativity. When he completed the track he had been working on, he shared it with me. Then, as I began to sing along, I was surprised to discover that the lyrics and melody I created fit flawlessly on his track. Since day one, the chemistry between us has been out of this world.

Then, I wanted to shake things up, so I asked him to incorporate more Egyptian pop elements with a soulful R&B flow and hip-hop undertones. I then requested that he add rock-inspired electronic guitar melodies. I also wanted to incorporate Arabic-style riffs of my own to give the song my own unique mark. 

The lyrics I wrote are inspired by the love story between me and Rynellton.

The vintage Egyptian appearance I came up with and applied myself depicts a resilient woman who hasn’t surrendered her passionate nature despite her hardships.

How would you title your style of music for people who are just discovering you for the first time?

Heartfelt and compassionate. Totally unique.

Do you have any future plans to perform live?

TaniA Kyllikki –

For the rest of this year, I’m mainly working on recording my album in London UK, as well as going through treatments for my heart and autoimmune illnesses.

But yes! Next year is going to be very busy for me with the release of my second album. We have plans for me to stay in the States for a few months to perform, as well as other things we are in discussion about. I’m really excited for all we have planned.

You and your husband Rynellton, aka Garry D. Hairston, have achieved tremendous success as a rising power couple independently, with Rynellton playing an important role in your musical development. How do you and your partner feel about collaborating? And despite the fact that you are still separated by oceans, how do you maintain such focus and optimism? 

TaniA Kyllikki – 

Thank you so much! It’s an incredible feeling to be on this musical journey with my husband, my best friend, and my soulmate. We hit it off instantly upon our first meeting. We share so many similarities, both personally and professionally. 

Both of our creative imaginations are unconventional. We have no qualms about pushing the envelope and leaving an unforgettable impression. To put it another way, if anyone could spend a day in our creative minds, it would be like visiting Disney World! lol… There is something special for everyone to appreciate.

Undeniably, being separated by oceans is difficult, but we are working hard to change that. But it is our affection for one another, our faith in God, and our great passion for music, our drive and ambition that keeps us focused and optimistic.
