Edmonton’s Ben Reilly has been making a name for himself lately through Spotify, his most notable tracks on the platform so far being the Tory Lanez assisted “Keep It 100” and the Legion Beats produced track “Astonishing”. We interviewed the rapper to discover more about him.
Q: What inspired you to become a rapper?
A: Seeing the music video for Busta Rhymes song “Gimmie Some More” when I was 3. I was instantly hooked and wanted to become an emcee.
Q: When did you start rapping?
A: When I was 12 years old.
Q: What has been your best experience as an artist so far?
A: Definitely performing at last year’s Adamstock Music Festival, headlined by The Outlawz. 2Pac is my favourite rapper, so it was amazing to shake hands with the crew he started.
Q: What projects do you have planned for the future?
A: I just finished my first album, “Every Man For Himself”, which I plan to release later this year through Kylian Mash’s Most Wanted Group. I also finished an album with my homie Rollin’ MC, we’re in a duo together called E.G.O.
Q: Any shout outs?
A: Shout out to my mom, shout out to Rollin’ MC, shout out to Kylian Mash for his help in marketing my music, shout out to Angry Kids 24-7 Radio, and shout out to everyone who supports my music.
Ben Reilly’s album, Every Man 4 Himself, drops later this year, and features appearances from Tory Lanez, Dave East, and many more.
