CHiLL Get Your FryDay Going With “On My Own”.
In this followup to his THC single, CHiLL lays the the framework for the release of his FryDay album. On My Own is sophisticated with thought stimulating lyrics, woven through a smooth background track. The song is clever, with a positive message that gives it a mantra like quality. On My Own is definitely a “must add” to your playlist.
VMG had a brief moment to sit down with the Texas native, to see how he’s doing it on His Own.
1) What keeps you motivate when it comes to your music?
It’s a lot of things honestly. One major thing that motivates me the most is knowing that i have a unique talent to make a difference in the music world.
2) When you think of “Vintage Media Group”, what comes to mind?
When i hear “Vintage Media Group”, I think of quality music.
3) Being that you are from Texas, what is the state of Hip-Hop there? How would you titled your style of music?
Hip-Hop in Texas is authentic. When you listen to people like UGK, Devin the Dude, Scarface & Rap-a-Lot, you hear authentic experiences. You hear the reality of what’s going on around these artist’s worlds. I would title my style as laid-back, cruising music. Music that you listen to on your way to your destination. Music that motivates all boys & girls to go for their dreams & make money.
4) With your most recent music single “On My Own” which is DOPE by the way. Can you give us some details on how you came up with the single?
Thank you. I appreciate that a lot! Well sometime in the beginning of 2016, the whole Armored Sound camp (Big Chan, Spradley, Omega, & Vante’) all gathered up & started coming up with ideas for my project “FryDay”. When we came across the beat, we knew that the tune should be something smooth; classical. As i was listening, I was thinking about what was going on in the world today. No explicit language, no club vibes. Just straight facts on today’s reality. Couple days later, “On My Own” was created.

6) Who are some of your influences?
I have many influences. One of my greatest influences is my Producer/Manager/CEO of Armored Sound: Big Chan. Not only does he have a keen ear for music, he also knows how to grab ahold of the business that comes with it; in a very professional way. Established artists that influence me are Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Lil’ Wayne, Drake, Mac Miller,Tupac, Nipsey Hussle, & Snoop Dogg.
