The guns are blazing, its 2020 and everyone is on the brink of war, i.e. USA, Russia and China. Kind of sounds familiar doesn’t it? But, then story telling has never been the selling point of the Battlefield series, and if you are buying it solely for the campaign, prepare to be a bit disappointed. Don’t get us wrong, it is well-designed and all, it is just that we expect a bit more from them. On the other hand, multiplayer has some new tricks up the sleeve which will be liked by most people.

The gunplay is a balance between rewarding accuracy and recoil. It has a nice authentic feel to it. But, that is the extent of it. The introduction of the DMR is good and has given some mobility to the Recon. The addition of the new vehicles is impressive as well. But, even if there is something lacking in combat, the sheer beauty of the maps will cover up for it. They are larger, well designed, have more stuff to do, and should keep gamers busy and engaged.

This combined with some excellent sound effects, which DICE has always excelled in, makes for a more immersive experience, especially when the physics is good enough to counter in the effect of your imposed destruction. However, authentic is as far as we will go. It isn’t realistic, which would be a step ahead of authentic. But, then do we really want it to be realistic!

The graphical fidelity of the game is definitely better than Battlefield 3. The particle effects are great and interacting with the environment feels good. Taking advantage of the environment intelligently can be rewarding to say the least. However, it requires some intense study and presence of mind to execute, which are two things usually not associated with multiplayers. Everything looks really good. But, there are a couple of bugs and glitches, which will have you gnashing your teeth.

Depending on how you see it “Levolution” can be a stroke of genius or a complete disaster. The dynamic and ever evolving nature of the map is at one point quite interesting with respect to its authenticity. But, on the other hand some people complain that bringing down a skyscraper creates an absolute mess. What did you think would happen! Obviously, if you bring down a skyscraper, it is supposed to get messy. But, it looks super cool nonetheless, especially if you survive. For tips on tanks checkout this guide.

It is inevitable that any game in a series will be compared to its predecessor. Now, there are a great many opinions out there when it comes to comparing it with Battlefield 3. But ultimately, the opinions can be divided into three groups of people. To get shirt of this game checkout Forward.

  1. The people who did not play Battlefield 3 at all, will find everything to be excellent.
  2. The second group of people is those who played Battlefield 3, but not really that much, so say for about 60hrs. They will find Battlefield 4 to be very similar, to the point where it may not even justify a purchase.
  3. People who played the previous version a lot, like close to or more than 1000hrs; they will acknowledge the differences from the very start of play.

So, depending on how much you have played the previous versions, Battlefield 4 can range from just satisfying to downright awesome.

The thing which has always set Battlefield 4 apart is its integration of vehicular combat with ground troops. And the balance is definitely better in Battlefield 4 than it was in the previous versions. This is what makes it different from other games in the genre and we are happy to say that it has been preserved. All in all, it is definitely worth your money and will keep you entertained to say the least.
