Nike Sportswear is still using the “Essential” tag on certain Air Max releases.
As far as we can tell, that designation seems to point to pairs that are lacking any of the newer material choices (Hyperfuse, Lunar, Jacquard, etc) but aren’t original colorways. This Nike Air Max 90 just showed up under that banner, although we won’t fault you if you are focused on the more weather appropriate Sneakerboot range at the moment.
