(New Exclusive Interview) Wizdum The Lionhearted Talks Music With Vintage Media Group
1. How did you get the name Wizdum The Lionhearted?
Well I made the name up in my freshman year of high school, changed it a little bit and then reclaimed it. I grew up in a Jehovah’s Witness household and there is a scripture in the bible that says “wisdom is in the head of the grey headed one” and I had a small bit of grey hair at an early age, so I took wisdom and became wizdum. I’m also a huge fan of the movie Braveheart and I’m a Leo so I combined the two Wizdum the Lionhearted. I am the one and only
2. Breakdown your style and sound?
To be honest I consider myself an artist so I will leave the breakdown of my sound and style to the critics and listeners. All I try to do is make good music that means something to me and that feels good to me and hopefully it translates over to the listener. I don’t like to put myself in any kind of box because that will limit me, and I never want to be limited in any endeavor
3. How has your environment effected the type of music that you create?
My environment is essentially my music. Everything that I have experienced everything that I see and hear on daily basis, all my current emotions and the emotions and life experiences of the people of I encounter, they all have a place in the tapestry I paint with my pen. I use everything anything for inspiration.
4. What is the concept behind Goin Live and why that record from your single?
Well “Goin Live” came about because everybody in the world goes live now. It’s here to stay and its only going to get bigger, so when I heard the beat it was tempo exciting I wanted make something catchy and relatable and “Goin Live” just came to me and I ran with it.
5. What do you feel Goin Live brings different to the marketplace?
The thing I feel is different about “Goin Live” is that it is marketable across the board for many different commercial possibilities it’s not just your average club banger. I feel like it could be used by the any of the major sports teams, associations (i.e. …NBA, NFL, and MLB) and or broadcast channels for sports or news… Watch us live with my song “Goin Live” in the playing background or for Facebook or Instagram themselves. That’s what makes it different for me.
6. Where do you see your brand and career in the next 5 years?
In the next six years, I will have my solo career off established and running doing nationwide tours. I will also have a roster of solidified artist that I will be developing and pushing. I will have my publishing company established as well churning out music to be sold. I’m also an audio engineer I have my own studio but I will it have it running autonomously. I will build it out of blood, sweat, tears and sleepless nights, this is what I have seen for myself.
