U BAD… One of the Hottest Twerk Songs This Year!!!

Creators of the Fast and Furious breakout hit “The Fast Life” are turning their hand at another hit record. The Virginia-based P&M studio owned by creative director and rapper A. Ali is turning up the heat with his latest hit U BAD. The bumping rhythms have even the stiffest necks swaying to his unique beat. The single dropped October 29th with rave reviews from fans who say his latest club anthem is on fire! Listeners call U BAD “a fire truck without the sirens”

From the heavy percussion infused with the sound of woodwinds, A. Ali creates another musical masterpiece. The hook “Yea shorty U BAD” has heads bopping from the Big D to the Bronx. A. Ali croons “Let me see you drop. Let me see you roll. Let me see you drop – Don’t stop. Get low.”

The music video stars sought after Jamaican beauty Kim Bashy. Bashy known for her work with notables like Grammy Award winner Sean Paul, graces the screen. The agile dancer takes U BAD to the next level with her mix of ballet, High Heels, and Latin styles. The fast-moving, heart-pounding anthem was shot on location in Jamaica, Germany, and Colombia with post-production in Virginia.

A.Ali has caught the eye of celebrities like Grammy Winning R&B legend Case, platinum producer DJPain1 and southern entrepreneur and super promoter Q-Dot Davis who stopped by their Instagram page to show some love for A. Ali’s latest project. Bloggers like GlobalHipHops, Music Media Outlet, Music&Fashion Blog, and one of the biggest hip hop bloggers on Instagram, ItzBizkit have also shown their support as well as many A+ TikTok and Instagram models like Jauucy and Monica Vallejo and MissBenzo. Professionals know this talented singer and rapper is more than a club beat.

Ali is a triple threat as a singer, songwriter, and producer all wrapped in one. Along with his curated crew, this self-taught sensation is taking over the airwaves. The independent recording and production studio based right in the heart of Old Dominion is mixing unique sounds with a new attitude and tempo for this generation.

This private production company is the secret weapon behind many feature films and ghost-writing projects. A-listers and agents call on P&M for everything from writing to editing and postproduction. Their signature music is found on Amazon Prime’s Sucker for Love and the theme for the BlackPlanet website.

Ali, known for his signature wavy locks and 100-watt smile has been writing tunes for more than a decade. Whether love songs on club beats, Ali has his finger on the pulse of society. His thought-provoking lyrics on smash hits like Walking Away – grips listeners from start to finish. The pitch of the piano juxtaposed with his velvety voice and rhythmic rhymes take listeners through the story of broken families, wounded hearts, and shattered dreams. The listener feels every bit of his pain as A. Ali calls out in a thoughtful moan to his lost love “What you say got me walking away.”

We sat down A.Ali to talk about the new single and more…

1) What keeps you motivated when it comes to your music?

My family and my crew keep me going. They got a lot of faith in me so I just want to make sure everyone I love is taken care of. That’s my motivator.

2) When you think of “Vintage Media Group”, what comes to mind?

I like to break things down to the basics so the first thing I think of is what does it mean to be vintage? To be vintage is to be exclusive…hand-picked and untouched until the time is right. High quality through and through. That’s my definition of vintage and the Vintage Media Group is just that. For underground and emerging artists looking to get discovered, Vintage MG is one of the best places to go.

3) Being that you are from Virginia, what is the state of Hip-Hop there? How would you title your style of music?

Hip Hop is universal so much like any other place you go, you got artists from all walks of life doing their thing. As you already know, Virginia isn’t as big as states like Georgia, New York, Texas, or Cali but what we lack in size, we make up in talent. A lot of big-name artists and producers got their start here and being that Virginia is such a hard place to come up from, it feels good knowing that it’s not impossible. Getting back to the question, hip hop is alive and well in Virginia. Matter of fact, you got more artists doing now than probably ever before.

4) With your most recent music single “U Bad” is FIRE, I Really Like It… Can you give us some details on how you came up with that song?

To be perfectly honest, I was so drunk and high, I don’t even remember how I came up with it because a lot of songs I’ve written in the past were more focused on life and surviving the struggle but once upon a time, I used to manage strippers so I’m sure that’s where some of the inspiration came from but that was a good question. What I can tell you is when I dropped it, I knew I had to do something with it. I didn’t plan on U BAD being my first single but a lot of people were telling me I had something special on my hands. I was still kind of hesitant to push it at first because I didn’t want the stigma that comes with pushing a club song as a first single but when I had presented the song to Michael Newman, president of New Music Server, in his own words he was like “this is the one.”

At the time, my team and I were already knee-deep in making an animated music video for what was going to be my first single but Michael convinced me to put my main focus into U BAD. I was still kind of gritting my teeth because I really wanted to push something else at first, but I trusted that Michael knew what he was talking about especially since he got me by like three decades so instead of being hardheaded, I decided to listen for a change and here we are.

6) Who are some of your influences?

You name it. I used to listen to everybody from NWA to WuTang. So many artists have played a role in my development that if I sat here and named them all, we’d need another segment. No cap.

7) Any Last Remarks?

I’m very thankful for the opportunity to be able to share some of my story with Vintage MG. As an emerging artist, platforms like Vintage are so important because there’s so much talent out there that gets overlooked and without real exposure, we have no voice. I appreciate the love and thank you again for having me. God bless.

When do you think of Virginia and Music what's come to mind? To be honest the "Twerk" era has been dominated by female artists and has been set with a certain formula that caters to women and how they are taking over the industry with a certain lane of independence. The VA native A. Ali has gone back to the essence of raw "Twerk" music with the vibes of early 2000. U Bad is an instant hit with all the elements to have the ladies test those knees and shake something. With the strong production and heavy replay value, this is an easy hit. Definitely looking to see a visual for this hit. Check the song out and let us know what you think.

  1. The song “U Bad” is fire, and has heavy repeat value. It sounds like it’s from a veteran in the game. And watching how the artist A Ali has the hottest girls in his video and on his socials, make me want to see how they act in the club when the song comes on. He’s definitely putting VA on the map once again, and stepping with the likes of the Skillz, Pharrell’s, Pusha T’s, Missy’s and more. He’s representing for the Tidewater area and RVA! I can’t wait to hear the full album fr!

  2. I have known A Ali over 18yrs and music is a great passion for him. I glad he was given the opportunity to do ” U Bad” for fast and furious. He brought forth a great sound.

  3. Yo!!!!! This song is 🔥 🔥!!!! This is the perfect twerk song and I gotta say it’s catchy! I can’t wait to see what other great hits A Ali provides!
