“He was hitting outside shots, driving to the hole. We had about everyone on the team guarding him” -Larry Bird (Boston Celtics)
On this day twenty-eight years ago, Michael Jordan scored 63points (alone) against the Boston Celtics. That night Jordan set the NBA playoff scoring record. This was only his second season playing and was not even suppose to play on this particular night after an injury coaching officials thought could possibly ruin the rest of the season and even years to come if he didn’t take it easy. Despite their opinion, Jordan was insistent on playing this particular night. Even though Joran put in work that night, it wasn’t quite enough, the Celtics won that night, and went on to win the serious in three games that season.
