The eye-catching German/Brazilian singer wows with quality and gender-fluid pop bops in her first full EP “The Reformation”. Fully recorded in Brazil but definitely influenced by her time as a writer out in the states, each track is catchier than the other. We have gotten a sneak peak into the 5 song project. “The big difference between this piece of work and her previous singles doesn’t only lie in the quality and maturity of her ear for a hit, but also in the lack of fear for simplicity.” 3 of the songs make you want to dance and feel like you just hopped off a plane to carnival, bringing a Brazilian twist to the Latin/Reggaeton club craze. “I think people are underestimating funk. Brazilian funk that is. I did until I got here and started being around it. The energy is unparalleled and i’m in love” she says. Nevertheless, 2 of the songs stay true to her pop nature. Anything for You making you miss someone you’ve never even had with an annoyingly catchy hook and of course the title track: Reformation. When asked if this means she will now stop her career writing for other artists (Jackie has worked with someone of the most in demand singers of the decade) – she answers, absolutely not. “That’s my biggest love. That’s therapy.” The first 2 singles come out December 13th, keeping us on our toes for 2020. Watch out- it’s coming.

VMG had a sit-down with “The Apostel of FunkPop” to talk about her new full EP “The Reformation” dropping soon and more…

1) What keeps you motivated when it comes to your music?

It’s rare for me to be satisfied with something I do. I always wanna keep growing and developing. Staying motivated is easy when you’re obsessed with what you do. There’s definitely hard and frustrating days especially in writing. You do hundreds of demos before something works.

2) When you think of “Vintage Media Group”, what comes to mind?

Passion.

3) Being that you are from Los Angeles, what is the state of Hip-Hop there? How would you titled your style of music?

I’m not actually from LA, but I did spend a few years living there. It’s so inspiring to be in a place where you’re surrounded by like-minded people. There’s something about the energy that is unbeatable.

4) With your most recent EP “The Reformation” which is coming soon… Can you give us some details on how you came up with the EP, and why you named it “The Reformation?

Reformation represents a rebirth for me. A completely new chapter in my life. A new way of looking at music, a new way of looking at myself. I wasn’t expecting to have to re-invent myself again, but sometimes you’re not the one making these plans.

5) Where can your fans & supporters find you online? Via Twitter, Facebook, etc.?

Jackie Apostel anywhere and everywhere!

6) Who are some of your influences?

It’s crazy, everyone asks that and I never know how to answer. The range is huge. I’m inspired by the old, the new, the happy, the sad. From big pop artists to old doo-wops to film music. It’s really Disney to Dr. Dre and everywhere in between.

7) Any Last Remarks?

We really can’t wait for all this to come to life. And its crazy how this is just the tiny little routes of what’s to come.
