Patience by T-Zank represents the positive life that evolves out of staying persistent for what you truly believe in until you make it to your goals. It also depicts the feeling of achieving your up most desires and the euphoria of seeing success after so much hard work. Zank is currently on an independent national tour with his labelmate e3 known as the #MyAuthorityTour.

1) What keeps you motivate when it comes to your music?

The motivation that’s keeps me going is the potential to create a positive change within the world via my music and energy. Whenever I have a fan tell me their personal story and how my music has been able to help them rise above a bad situation, it reminds me exactly why I started doing this and why I have to continue to keep it moving in the future. My drive is to create a highly conscious audience from a spiritual perspective through my personal life story and the connection with the universe that I have been able to realize. We all have that connection, its a matter of awakening to it!

2) When you think of “Vintage Media Group”, what comes to mind?

To me, “Vintage Media Group” brings to mind the appreciation for the culture of hip hop and music in general. Its obvious that group stays up to date with what is current in the music industry while never forgetting where the culture started and how it continues to evolve through dope artists today.

3) Being that you are from Fort Wayne, Indy what is the state of Hip-Hop there? How would you titled your style of music?

Fort Wayne is an interesting hip hop market. There is a large amount of talent within the city, but the business mentality among those involved is lacking. There are only a few venues within the city willing to reasonably work with the local scene, so you gotta create your opportunity and make it happen yourself. Its a tough local scene, but their are plenty of real underground hip hop fans that stay loyal to talent when they find it and are down to support and help out in any way that they can. I started doing shows at house parties in Fort Wayne while I was in college, and its awesome now being able to come back to the city and still see those loyal friends rocking with the movement at every event we throw. My style of music is lyrically and positively based. I set out to create a sound that has never been done, something new to the listener ear that can be heard and respected by all ages.

4) With your most recent single & music video “Patience” is Crazy DOPE, can you give us some details on how you came up with that visual?

Every time that I want to do a music video, I sit down at least a month before the shoot with Miles Meyer, my director, and we collaboratively listen to the song on repeat and develop a treatment. We always want to do something new while capturing the emotion of the song perfectly, so for Patience we wanted to get some airy inspiring scenes in a major city, but also get shots of the day one fans rocking with us. We figured the best way to capture that was to throw a private house party event in Fort Wayne and film the night. With these plans in place, we were able to capture the big city dreams of the movement and also the local starting family that has been there through the whole ride. We successfully captured the emotion of working hard until you achieve something and then the beauty of actually seeing it through.

You can look up all of my projects on ITunes, Amazon, and SoundCloud. My latest release “Authority of the Soul” is up for free download on SoundCloud and Amazon.

6) Who are some of your influences?

I gain influence from a wide variety of artists and genres. I grew up on classic rock, and seeing artists like Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison completely change the landscape of music forever with unique soundscapes and presence motivates me to do something similar with my hip hop. I was always a big Rage Against the Machine fan growing up, so that definitely pushes me to make deep and socially conscious music. Hip hop wise, I am a big fan of Mos Def, Talib Kweli, J. Cole, Killer Mike to name a few…The list goes on for days, but lyrically intelligent rappers are who I typically rock with. I like people who work hard, define their own sound and success, and always put out new stuff that surprises you in a good way every-time you play it.
