In 1996, we were on the edge of our seats as Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes went head-to-head with the Nerdlucks, a group of criminal aliens who planned on capturing the animated icons to use as attractions at their failing amusement park Moron Mountain. After agreeing to play the Looney Tunes in a basketball game with freedom on the line, the Nerdlucks returned to Earth to steal the talents of NBA stars Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Muggsy Bogues, Shawn Bradley and Larry Johnson, which they believed would ensure victory. However, their plan fell through when the Looney Tunes introduced Jordan as their trump card.

For the past 18 years, one sneaker has represented Space Jam — the Air Jordan 11, which originally released in 2000 and again in 2009. Now, Converse gets in on the fun with a new ‘Space Invader’ Pack, which consists of the Aero Jam and Weapon Mid.

The Aero Jam, Johnson’s old signature shoe, arrives in a colorway inspired by the Monstar who stole his talent —Bupkus. It’s highlighted by a two-two purple suede upper, glow in the dark outsole and galactic print along the interior.

Marvin the Martian, who had a role as a referee in the film, is the muse behind the Weapon Mid. Features include a premium nubuck upper, custom woven label and glow in the dark sole.

The ‘Space Invader Pack’ is available now at retailers like sivasdescalzo.
