(New Exclusive Interview) Sir Lance V Talks Music And Being A Pop Artist

1. Q: How long have you been doing music?

A: I have been around music since I could talk, due to my family ties in Gospel music.  I’ve played around with music since high school, singing in the high school chorus.  I have been recording professional for about 3 or so months.

2. Q: What are the pro’s and con’s of doing Pop/Dance music?

A: The pro’s of doing Pop/ Dance music is that when comes to this genre of music emotionally it makes people happy and physically it makes people want to dance, which in essence makes this genre of music most popular overall.  So If I’m going to make music I want to do the most popular overall music that makes people happy and want to dance. I would love to do that for people.  The only con is that for the rest of the people who are not into Pop/Dance music they may not cheer me on with this style of music or maybe they will.  As I grow as an artist I will experiment with different genres of music so that ultimately I can reach more people.3. Q: How did the record “Bounce” come about?

A: Timing is everything and I got lucky with this record due to my great friend/brother/ manager Bernard Alexander Jr. knowing the type of artist I am and the style of music that I am going for.  He met the producers Blaq Tuxedo a short time ago and heard a catalog of their produced records for future artists and he heard “Bounce” and knew it was a calling for me.  I changed some of the words on the song to fit my personality more and there you have it.4.Q: What is the concept behind the record “Bounce”?

A: The concept behind “Bounce” is me introducing myself as a person that is here to uplift your spirits by doing some fun things in life together and with my enthusiastic style of dancing and that’s what “Bounce with me” means.. come and have fun with me in life and dance with me.5. Q: What is the hardest thing you had to overcome in life and how did you overcome it?

A: The hardest thing in my life that I had to overcome was my pledging process of the prestigious fraternity of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.  I overcame this difficult part in my life by 1. praying to God everyday for strength and protection, 2. as best as I could calming my nerves and not panicking and 3. getting uplift from my line brothers who endured the same fear and pain as I had every night.  Aside from those three things, ultimately me knowing that the Omega men who were pledging me went through the same or worse, and that they made it through this horrible process and knowing it would come to an end eventually got me through.   I made it through that 10 week process and became a member of the prestigious fraternity of Omega Psi Phi fraternity Inc.  Now as I look back, that process which now feeling like a weeks process, has prepared me for life”s difficult challenges and so far nothing is as difficult as my pledge process.  That’s what life does sometimes, hands you a difficult challenge, which most people have gone through, they make it through it and eventually it comes to an end.6. Q: Where do you see your brand and career in the next 5 years?

A: Honestly, I cannot predict that only God’s knows.  I hope I will be around in 5 years doing something amazing to uplift and help others in the world get through their problems and inspire them to do something amazing for themselves and others.  In the meantime, I’m just going to continue to work hard to bring great music, dancing, personality and swag and hopefully the world will know of me and be cheering me on and loving the artist that I have become.
