VMG sat down with the artist, to see what’s new…

1) What keeps you motivate when it comes to your music?

Confucius said he who says he can and he who says he can’t are both usually right. Will Smith says greatness is not this elusive esoteric god-like feature that only a few of us achieve. It truly exists in all of us. I believe that everyone deserves something out of life I mean anything no matter what plus you will always get back what you put for example my mentor Mr. Bruce used to tell me when I was bussing tables and barbacking and working 3 and 4 jobs in this restaurant in DC called Masa14 he always stayed in my ear about hustling he always said if you come to work and Bullshit you deserve bull shit money but if you come to work and hustle you deserve hustler money. That’s what’s drives me I’m going to get what I deserve or I’m going to die trying to get it but if I quit however I might as well kill myself because nobody respects a quitter and I live to be respected to hell with being liked…

2) When you think of “Vintage Media Group”, what comes to mind?

What comes to mind when I hear Vintage Music Group is the fact that I’m even at this point where I can answer this question means I have taken steps in the right direction meaning that you could’ve given any other artist with a bigger catalog but you chose to give me the time of day. So to a question I think you guys don’t deal with bull shit artists and you choose to cover music, stories etc. You would’ve never given me the time of day let alone even tell me my song 4DUB was dope

3) Being that you are from DC, what is the state of Hip-Hop there? How would you titled your style of music?

To be honest DC is one of the most opinionated cities to make it in. Where everyone has the same mentality I gotta make it by any means necessary which essentially makes us crabs in a barrel and some will stop at nothing to get to the top but there are still a few who will let someone else shine for the moment.

I have a country west side DC style of rap I’m the type of artist that will roll a jay smoke a blunt play a beat kick a freestyle then write a song

4) With your most recent music single “4DUB” is Dope, can you give us some details on how you came up with that song?

I sold this young lady a dub of gorilla glue at a get together and I preceded to roll jay after jay after jay and she said damn I never paid 20$ to get smoked out before and I told her welcome to DC baby
And the day I recorded 4DUB me and my producer Seno got cussed out by his mother and I rolled a jay and recorded while smoking at the same time

5) Where can your fans & supporters find you online? Via Twitter, Facebook, etc.?

Twitter @pk_smash95
Instagram @pk_smash95
SoundCloud PK $mash

6) Who are some of your influences?

My biggest influences were Kevin gates and TI I always admired gates level of intelligence given his life story and his open honesty also his music gets you ready to do anything you want to do next. TI because he could go as far left as he could go as right like he did on the TI v TIP album which was my all time favorite album at one point until I heard the album king With the hit song what you know proclaiming himself king of the south and he made you believe that he was.

7) Any Last Remarks?

You may lose faith in those around you but never lose faith in yourself. Everybody has to have a Drea and as long as you believe it it doesn’t matter whatever anyone else says.
