Migos have had an incredible year off the strength of their sophomore album Culture, but they’re getting ready to take over 2018 as well. The trio is expected to release their new album Culture 2 in January, and it’s already getting some praise from those who have heard it. Fellow Quality Control signee Lil Yachty is one of those people, as he revealed on Twitter today. “ITS BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE BRA,” he wrote, responding to a tweet from FADER about Culture 2.

Does this mean the album is complete. Can we expect a Lil Boat feature on it?

The news of the release range came from a NYT article which also mentioned that Yachty’s own Lil Boat 2 would be coming in December. Read the excerpt in question below.

“Now, with two well-oiled moneymakers who have refused to fizzle — Lil Yachty’s ‘Lil Boat 2’ mixtape is scheduled for late December and Migos’s ‘Culture 2,’ featuring the single “MotorSport,” is due out in January — Pee and Coach can shift focus to building sustainable careers for its ‘farm team’ of young Atlanta rappers, including Lil Baby, Marlo and Mak Sauce, while simultaneously expanding its brand into television, film and more.

“Motor Sport,” the Cardi B and Nicki Minaj-assisted single from the LP has already risen to No. 15 on the Hot 100. Meanwhile, Migos’ guest appearance on Gucci Mane‘s “I Get The Bag” is at 16, while Offset appears on 4 additional songs on the chart, and Quavo 3. In other words, the group should go into the new year with a lot of momentum. Quavo previously hinted that someone special would be executive-producing the project. Fans have since guessed that Metro BoominKanye West, Travis Scott, or Quavo himself could earn the title.

Yachty recently revealed that Lil Boat 2 was complete. He released his official debut album Teenage Emotions earlier this year. He’s been previewing new music from the follow-up over the last few months.
