We had a moment to sit-down with Jazzy to talk about the DOPE new single, and more…
1) What keeps you motivated when it comes to your music?
What keeps me motivated is the fans. When people tell me that they relate to my lyrics or that my songs made them feel a certain way, that is what keeps me going. That is why I do it.
2) When you think of “Vintage Media Group”, what comes to mind?
When I think of “Vintage Media Group” i think of a place where people can go to discover new and amazing artist/music. Its also a huge platform for upcoming artist to be discovered by new fans. Its raw and real and inspiring.
3) Being that you are from Los Angeles, what is the state of Hip-Hop there? How would you titled your style of music?
Hip-hop in Los Angeles is always evolving and changing. Its not the same as it was in the 90’s, that for sure. I love the way hip hop now can be portrayed in different ways now. Trap music, R&b and even pop can be incorporated into hip hop and it really opens the doors for artist to be creative and still be considered in the “Hip-Hop” genre.
4) With your most recent single “Am I Still Your Baby” is FIRE. Can you give us some details on how you came up with that song?
Thank you so much! “Am I Still Your Baby” was written after I had an argument with my boyfriend. For once, it was my fault. Its not always easy to admit it. I wrote this song to express my apologies and love to my man.
5) Where can your fans & supporters find you online? Via Twitter, Facebook, etc.?
I am on all social media platforms. All links can be found on my website JazzyMejia.com!
6) Who are some of your influences?
Some of my musical influences are Beyonce, Lauryn Hill, Jhene Aiko, Neyo, John Legend, just to name a few.
