LOS ANGELES, CA – Between N.W.A, launching Eminem’s career, dropping The Chronic and 2001, and his monstrously successful Beats By Dre business, it’s fair to say that Dr. Dre has something of a Midas touch.

With that in mind, the goal to bring the 2024 Olympic Games to Dre’s home city of Los Angeles might have gotten some help with his addition to LA 2024’s board of directors.

The group, which aims to bring the Games back to L.A. for a third time, named more members to its board of directors on Thursday, and features a few other personalities with a track record of success, including basketball legend Magic Johnson, opera singer Placido Domingo, movie and record exec David Geffen, and LA Dodgers President and chief executive Stan Kasten.

Dr. Dre and the rest aren’t just donating their time and effort to the campaign though. Between them, the 117 board members have already donated $50 million to the cause, according to a press release.

As it stands, there are two options for where the games might be held in 2024: Los Angeles or Paris. Both cities have hosted the games more than once, though the Olympics haven’t been to Paris since 1924. LA has hosted the games in 1932 and 1984.
