Twisted Mines is a series based on Detroit native and former dancer, Jonathan K. Carter life. The first episode begins with the lead character, Omari doing an epic hip hop dance sequence, where he later finds out he received a house arrest sentence. Omari’s girlfriend, Andrea (played by Malan Boykin) is entertaining as the obnoxious high maintenance girlfriend. The story then follows as he bumps into his future social worker, who is played by Erika Coleman of “Big Stone Gap” fame. She looks to be a new love interest for Omari.

The series looks great, especially the growing love triangle between Omari’s cousin, Tara (“The Haves and Have Nots” Porsha Ferguson) and her cheating boyfriend (Blue Kimble) and her jealous best friend. Second, there is angry tension between Omari and Kim (Teresa Britton) who is both his attorney and step mother. Lastly, the hip hop dancing is great and the Detroit love drama is set for amazing twists and turns. MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, Kenneth Strong is excellent in the role of Omari. The series is currently in film festivals and is set to be released on Video on Demand in Spring.
