Cloroks [klohr-oxe] – noun. 1. A spotless unsigned animated Rap artist who insists on bringing an entertaining description back to Hip-Hop music.
Embodying an Animaniac persona with the cynical sense of humor of Slim Shady and influenced by his peculiar blend of sound effects and brilliant elaborate punchlines, Cloroks (real name Michael Duren) embraces his unique rap style. Some artists such as Atlanta’s Migos, Young Thug, and OG Maco who use quirky ad-libs and enticing hooks, have an industry “niche” type of sound – but have never been directly linked to being lyric-worthy rappers – until now.
Cloroks surfaced in 2011 under the mentorship of fellow South GA rappers Shawn Jay and Smoke of the Hip-Hop duo Field Mob (“Georgia” ft. Ludacris x Jamie Foxx). Field Mob’s unique, eccentric flow with a southern touch, greatly influenced Cloroks to polish and really sharpen his enthusiastic delivery and ability to manipulate words.
Not your typical “southern spitter”, Cloroks aims to release his first highly promoted Mixtape titled
“RAPGAMENEEDSATOONUP” August 25, 2015 already consisting of some Atlanta’s top producers J. Padron (“Bandos” Migos x Trinidad James) Ole-E (B.o.B x Ludacris x T-Pain x Field Mob) Sevn Thomas (“Energy” & “10 Bands” x Drake) in addition to many others. Roks also plans to follow up his Summer Mixtape with a digital EP set to release October 27, 2015 (yet to be titled)
