In the words of the great philosopher 2 Chainz, “All I spend is money, baby. I don’t spend time.” Apparently The Dream hasn’t been very physically active in the life of the daughter he shares with Christina Milian, Violet, though he has been supporting financially. In a new interview, the songstress expresses her frustrations with her ex’s lack of parenting. 90 percent of success is just showing up, Dream.

The Voice star Christina Milian went for an early afternoon jog in Los Angeles, Calif. on Wednesday (July 11). The 30-year-old R&B singer was seen pushing her sleepy 2-year-old daughter Violet in the stroller. Before hitting the trails, the proud mama took to Twitter, writing, “Bout to do a Mommy Daughter morning hike! We’re gonna get it in.”

After ending her marriage to rapper The-Dream just five months after welcoming Violet, Christina has been the child’s primary guardian. She recently told Houston’s 97.9′s radio host JJ, ”I really would like for her to have a father in her life,” she said. “I’ve come to the realization that I have to be a 150 – 200 percent mom for her. It’s not about finances. No, it’s about spending time.”

She added: “All I care about is my daughter. When it comes to the case of parenting and having another parent, I really would like for her to have a father in her life. And I wasn’t really happy at the moment and I’m still not in the best case (scenario). I’m not one of those parents or mothers who say, ‘Oh you can’t spend time,’ or be that way with a baby daddy and try to withhold their children and use that against them… My daughter is a great kid and she has a lot of love around her and some day she is going to have a man in her life that loves her the way I do.”

Christina added that having a close bond with her own father has made a big difference in her upbringing.

“I remember what it was like as a child being raised by my dad and it meant something to me,” Christina shared. “And he and I actually had an off time when I was a teenager because he had left us for a while but he came back and he’s back in my life and I’m so thankful because he meant a lot to me. So, I just would like that for (Violet).”
