Today (July 31), Remy Ma springs free from Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. After serving six and a half years for shooting Makeeda Barnes-Joseph in the abdomen back in 2008, the rapstress will return home to reunite with her husband Papoose and son.
Big Pun’s protege claims she hasn’t changed much while behind bars.“Well, I can’t say that I was one of those people that went to prison and had this dramatic life change and I have this new-found outtake on life. In a lot of ways, I’m the same. I grew up a lot and I look at things a lot differently as far as business goes,” she said in a phone interview with Angie Martinez earlier this month. “Personally, with myself, I look back and go, ‘Yo, I was really crazy. This is why people were saying I was crazy.”
Do not anticipate the “Conceited” rapper to take ample time readjusting. Reportedly already working on a reality TV series, Remy intends on reclaiming the rap crown from the boys.“I’ve always repped for the chicks or whatever, but I can stand next to the best of the dudes that’s out there. That’s what I intend to do again,” she said.
Welcome back Remy Ma.
