Nike Sportswear sets forth the Penny “Sharpie” Pack that will include the Nike Air Penny 6 and the Nike Air Foamposite One, to commemorate Penny Hardaway on being the first NBA player to get 40 Points consecutively during Playoffs.
The 90’s was the ultimate era of footwear and it was also the golden period of the NBA, with memorable athletes such as Michael Jordan, Shaq, Shawn Kemp and Orlando Magic Penny Hardaway.
One of Penny’s Unofficial signature shoes, The Nike Air Foamposite One, was the first of it’s kind and hard to miss on court. During this period, Penny Hardway violated the uniform guideline and was hassled by the NBA, due to his Foamposite’s being a solid blue color.
Penny proceeded to customize the Foamposite giving them Black stripes, using a sharpie to follow the NBA’s 50/50 guideline. The story is now re-lived with the upcoming Nike Air Foamposite One “Sharpie” colorway rumored to release later this year.
Also included in the pack, is the Nike Air Penny 6 that also features an Orlando-esque theme of White Blue and Black.
The Nike Sportswear “Sharpie” Pack will release on July 4th, 2015 for a retail price of $500.
