Besides being the hometown of LeBron James, Akron has a history of being one of the world’s leading cities for tire rubber manufacturing. Also known as the ‘Rubber City,’ Akron is home to American tire and rubber company Goodyear.
Paying homage to the city’s staple, Nike Sportswear has styled the latest EXT LeBron 12 in tire rubber. The ‘Rubber City’ LeBron 12 was debuted on-foot by James in red last month, but will first hit retail in black. Chrome Swoosh branding and a translucent sole bring extra flair to the look.
According to launch calendars, the ‘Rubber City’ LeBron 12 EXT will hit Nike Sportswear accounts next Saturday, Mar. 21.
