We caught up with the Alabama transplant Rapper Dukane. He talks projects and how he’s already penetrated the LA Market. And how his latest project “Most Hated” is already doing numbers.
How did you get into music?
I’ve always been an entertainer but originally started as a basketball player. Even the sound of a basketball bouncing traversed into an interest of music. Through basketball I got to travel all over the world and saw a lot. I have a story to tell through music.
What is the first album you ever owned? Did it have any influence on your music today?
I grew up on Tupac, and then the whole Southern atmosphere of Master P and the No Limit crew – and then from the East coast, Jay Z, Nas and Styles P. to name a few.
Where do you find your artistic inspiration?
My mother. I’m oldest out of four kids and she raised us by herself; women empowerment in general inspires me, they go beyond to take care of their family with little to nothing and that’s motivation for me.
Tell me about CBD, what’s the goal with the CBD label?
“Can’t Be Denied” is something my mom used to scream to me at my basketball games. It’s saying that if someone is putting their all into something, they can’t be denied.
