Touching on everything from Young Thug, and Chuck Wilson from Babygrande (his former label) who reportedley stole money from the artist.
Element is definitley back on this on this one. Featuring fellow Inglewood native Mike45 on the hook reminiscent of the Lox with it’s rawness. Touching on everything from Young Thug, and Chuck from Babygrande (his former label) who reportedley stole money from the artist at the time he was signed with his crew Custom Made. Definitley give this a listen. You don’t want to miss out.
1) What keeps you motivate when it comes to your music?
The will to make it. To not let myself down. I’ve been in music for sometime now.I have always claimed I would be a successful artist and tell everyone so. I would hate to appear as a liar to those around me with nothing but false hope and dreams. Another thing are my kids. Over the years I have developed a persevering mentality. You can do whatever you put your mind to. I want to be able to tell them these things without the least bitter intention because I haven’t accomplished what i set out to do.
2) When you think of “Vintage Media Group”, what comes to mind?
Classy. High quality. The best. People in suits making important executive decisions. All that good shit.
3) Being that you are from Inglewood, what is the state of Hip-Hop there? How would you titled your style of music?
Typical. Ratchet music mailny. But Los Angeles as a whole has more to offfer. If you delve into the Los Angles underground and milgled with the night life with the artsy individuals and those plainly with just good taste you can find peole listening to anything from Bonobo to Gaslamp Killer. It all depens on where you set yourself. I find it hard to put my ownself in catagory. I’ve been compared to so many things I don’t know. I feel humans need to categorize things in order to understand it adequately. I generally do rap. HipHop. You can put me in the Classical category for all i care. I don’t focus on the genre. I focus on the music…
4) With your most recent music single “The Best Is Back” which is Crazy NICE… can you give us some details on how you came up with that song?
I came up with the song when i heard the beat. It hit me like a sack of bricks. I often have a song done as soon as I hear it. I just need to take the time to structure it. Also because the rap game can make me angry because of all the fuckery. I’ts so twisted and self serving. I can barely stomach it. It takes me to a dark place.
5) Where can your fans & supporters find you online? Via Twitter, Facebook, etc.?
6) Any Last Remarks?
One of the reasons i took a break from music is because of how vain it is. How artistry has been replaced with financial gain. Tho lost of the true artist. The artist was not meant to be packaged, molded and duplicated. The artist was meant to mold and innovate. To be left alone to create undisturbed. But what the fuck do i know. I’m just an artist. All i can tell you i’m working on being back and I will bring my best.
