Here’s something that is totally unexpected. During his performance at KMEL’s annual Summer Jam concert on Saturday (June 13), Lil Wayne dropped a bombshell of an announcement. Apparently, Weezy has signed a deal with Jay Z.
According to an Instagram video that’s been making the rounds on the Internet, the Young Money leader pauses the show to reveal something to the crowd.

“I just signed a deal with my motherf—ing idol Jay Z,” he said. Unfortunately, there’s no additional information regarding this alleged deal.

While this sounds like a historic partnership, Lil Wayne is embroiled in a legal battle with Cash Money Records, so it’s unlikely that he signed a recording deal. However, the 32-year-old rapper could have possibly signed a management deal with Roc Nation.

Lil Wayne history with Jay Z goes all the way back to 2008 when Weezy was planning to bring YMCMB to Roc-A-Fella Records. But when Birdman caught wind of Weezy’s power move, the Cash Money CEO sent a letter to Hov stating “torturous interference.”

Three years later in 2011, Wayne dropped a diss song called “It’s Good” where he threw some lyrical darts at the veteran rhymer and his wife, Beyonce. The song was in response to Jay Z’s diss to Birdman on “H*A*M.”
Well, it looks like the two rap titans let bygones be bygones. Now it’s all about business. Hopefully, we’ll get more details regarding Lil Wayne’s purported deal with Jay Z.
